ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Story
bairyū (焙竜, meaning "roasted dragon") combines the warm, earthy tones of kakishibu, a dye made from unripe persimmons, with swirling patterns inspired by unryuzu, the cloud dragon motif found in temple art.
kakishibu lends a rustic, aged quality, while unryuzu’s flowing forms suggest movement and quiet drama, capturing the tension between calm and energy.
